Synthesis of Silica-coated Quantum Dot Embedded Silica Nanoparticle |

We developed synthesis method of silica coated quantum dot (QD)-densely-embedded silica nanoparticle (Si@D-QD@Si NP) as brighter optical nanomaterial by increasing the number of QDs on silica NP. Si@D-QD@Si NPs exhibited narrow size distribution and high signal reproducibility. Red, green and blue Si@D-QD@Si NPs were successfully fabricated and showed their optical properties. The differentness between red Si@D-QD@Si NP and silica coated QD-embedded silica NP (Si@QD@Si NP) was presence of 2.4 times increased number of QDs in Si@D-QD@Si NP. Quantum yield of Si@D-QD@Si NPs was slightly higher than Si@QD@Si NPs (≤ 3.1 %). The prepared Red Si@D-QD@Si NP showed approximately 26.6 % higher fluorescence intensity compared with the Si@QD@Si NP. And, green Si@D-QD@Si NP and blue Si@D-QD@Si NP exhibited 36.2 % and 39.3 % higher brightness than those of Si@QD@Si NPs. This result implied that the particles can be used for more sensitive detection. |
