제목 | Thermal and Electro-Optical Properties of Polyimide/Synthetic Smectite Nanocomposite Films |
초록 | Nanocomposites, made up of polyimides (PIs) and inorganic materials, are a vital subject of current research because various PIs are widely used as high performance polymers in advanced technologies such as microelectronics and aerospace1. In this work, to improve thermal and electro-optical properties of PIs, nanohybridized PI films(SS-1,SS-2) were obtained from solution blending of the poly (amic acid)s and the synthetic smectite. Cast films, containing 1~20 wt% by weight of synthetic smectite were characterized by XRD, TEM, TMA and haze meter. X-ray patterns of PI nanocomposites shows no discernable peaks from basal spacing of smectite meaning the fine dispersion of smectites in the PI matrix. And also, when the content of the smectite in the hybrid is increased, the resulted CTE decreases2. The reflective index were rather decreased than pristine PI and dielectric constants were also affected as the amount of synthetic smectite. Transmittance of nanocomposite at 440nm is as high as 85%, similar to that of the neat PI even if increasing the content of synthetic smectite. Table 1.
