Acyclovir, antiviral drug used against simplex virus and varicella zoster virus. In present study, solid dispersion (SD) of acyclovir was prepared to enhance its aqueous solubility The SD was prepared by using PVP K30 as a carrier with different drug polymer ratios and various solvent volume using spray drying technique. The formulation was characterized using differential scanning calorimetry(DSC) and FT-IR analysis demonstrated the conversion of acyclovir to amorphous form. Also, SD showed high solubility compared to pure acyclovir. It is expected that this study might be considerate as useful guideline for optimization of spray drying condition. |
