As the demand on soft and flexible devices steadily increases, ionic applications demonstrated by gel materials have been in the spotlight. Here, highly stretchable and attachable ionic diodes made by polyelectrolyte gels in VHB substrates are introduced. Polyelectrolyte gels were mechanically modified by methacrylated polysaccharide, forming interpenetrating networks (IPN) for stretchable ionic diodes with preserving ion selectivity of poly(sulfopropyl acrylate) (PSPA) and poly([acrylamidopropyl]trimethylammonium chloride) (PDMAPAA-Q). Rectifying behaviors of ionic gel diodes were shown under the maximum stretch of 4. The fabrication process of stretchable and attachable ionic diodes was simplified by LASER engraving, taking only a few minutes to make the entire device and letting ionic circuits with more sophisticated designs like diode bridges easily produced. |
