A series of reinforced composite membranes were prepared by impregnation of sulfonated poly(ether sulfone)(SPES) copolymers into liquid crystal polymer(LCP) non-woven fabrics. The properties of the reinforced composite membranes were compared with those of pristine membranes made of SPES. For the reinforced composite membranes, the dimensional stability was higher compared with that of pristine membranes due to the presence of liquid crystal polymer non-woven. Mechanical properties such of tensile strength, Young's modulus, and elongation were improved than those of pristine membrane. Moreover, the reinforced membranes showed high proton conductivity over 0.08S/cm at 25℃ and fully hydrated condition. |
