제목 Supercritical methanol as an effective medium for producing high-yield diesel-range enriched fraction from vacuum residue
초록 Vacuum residue from bottom product of vacuum distillation refinery with supercritical fluids were conducted in this study. VR upgrading such as visbreaking and hydrocracking was carried on to see the effect of supercritical fluids. Visbreaking reaction resulted in high coke formation whereas upgraded oil from hydrocracking contained high content of asphaltenes. Screening of supercritical fluids such as supercritical water and methanol were conveyed. Process parameters, including temperature, reaction time, and additive, were explored. 1 to 5 ratio of water to VR at 400°C or 1 hour formed emulsion of water and oil that could not be separated furthermore. In contrast, scMeOH as in-situ hydrogen-donation ability and its reactivity resulted in higher residue conversion, asphaltenes reduction, and fewer impurities as compared to those obtained in supercritical water. Increasing temperature and reaction time increased the VR conversion to lighter fraction of oil. Alongside scMeOH at 400°C for 60 min resulted in significant removal of metal such as nickel and vanadium. Finally, the obtained oil is of high quality and can be directly distilled for the production of transportation fuel.
