제목 FePt intermetallic nanotube as an highly durable electrocatalyst for polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell
초록 Polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) has been regarded as a promising energy device because of its high efficiency and no emission. Although it has many attractive merits, commercialization of PEMFC has been seriously hindered because of its high cost and deficient durability. Many reseraches have reported electrocatalysts with outstanding activity, but durability still remains as an important issue in the field.

Here, we report a new electrocatalyst with high durability: FePt intermetallic nanotube. Its morphology and intermetallic composition was analyzed by TEM and XRD, respectively. Its electrochemcial activity and durability were analyzed via a single cell test. Because of its intermetallic composition, it shows high activity in spite of low electrochemical surface area. Also, due to its supportless morphology, it is free from carbon corrosion and shows high durability under corrosive potential condition.
