제목 Effects of initiator type and content and polymerization condition on the characteristics of suspension polymerized toner particles
초록 To obtain high performance polymerized toners optimization of contents of major ingredients and polymerization condition is essential. In this study, the effects of initiator type (3 types) and content (2, 4, 6 wt %) as well as polymerization condition (temperature, time) on the characteristics of styrene based suspension polymerized toner particles were investigated by conducting experiments using Taguchi’s orthogonal array. An inorganic suspending system composed of calcium chloride and trisodium phosphate was used and ADVN and DVB were used as an initiator and a crosslinking agent respectively. The particle size, particle size distribution and binding polymer molecular weight were measured by particle size analyzer and GPC respectively. The intiator type played the most important role in controlling the particle size. High performance styrene based suspension polymerized toners could be prepared by optimizing initiator type and content as well as polymerization condition.
