제목 Microwave-induced nanoporous graphene membrane with precise molecular sieving in organic solvents
초록 Graphene is one of the most promising materials for membrane separation because of molecular sieving through its interlayer spacing. However, the low solvent permeance of graphene-based membranes is a highly challenging issue owing to the narrow interlayer spacing for solvent molecules. Herein, we fabricated an ultrafast nanoporous graphene membrane for organic solvent nanofiltration (OSN). The nanopores of graphene were generated by thermal treatment of graphene oxide which results in abundant nanopores with turbostratic sp3 carbon structure. Next, the microwave treatment was introduced on nanoporous graphene, which can not only change sp3 carbons to sp2 carbons but also remove remaining oxygen functional groups. The prepared membrane exhibited ultrafast permeance for various organic solvents. Furthermore, the membrane showed switchable molecular sieving because of the swelling of interlayer spacing depending on solvents. Therefore, the prepared membrane exhibited multiple mixture separation capabilities for the industry.
