We prepared two kinds of polyimide-filler composites by using boron nitride (BN) and graphite (Gr), respectively as a filler to investigate a thermal conductivity. We have synthesized poly (amic acid) (PAA) from pyromellitic dianhydride (PMDA) and 4,4’-oxydianiline (ODA) in dimethylacetamide (DMAc). To the PAA solution was added micro BN particles and Gr, respectively, and dispersed using a sonicator and a paste mixer. Coated composite films were subjected to thermal imidization using a vacuum oven under the gradually increased thermal conditions to produce PI-BN and PI-Gr composite. In order to obtain thermal conductivity, the density, specific heat of the specimens were measured using a pychnometer and differential scanning calorimeter (DSC). The thermal diffusivity of the through-plane and in-plane were measured using LFA447 and LASER-PIT, correspondingly. This study showed that the thermal conductivity increased in the order of PI, PI-BN, PI-Gr. |
