In recent years, the interest in renewable resource-based materials and biopolymers increases. A polylactide(PLA) is renewable, degradable aliphatic polyester prepared by ring opening polymerization of lactide that is cyclic dimer produced from the dehydration of lactic acid made from fermentation of corn starch. Lactide has two types of isomers such as L-lactide and D-lactide. In this work, polymers were synthesized by ring opening polymerization of lactide as a monomer using Tin(Ⅱ) octoate and lauryl alcohol as a catalyst and initiator, changing amount of initiator, reaction time and reaction temperature. And properties of blends of poly(L-lactide)(PLLA) and poly(D-lactide)(PDLA), and non-blend PLLA, PDLA were characterized, respectively, using GPC, 1H NMR, DSC, XRD. |
