제목 Organic Bistable and Memory devices
초록 Since the first demonstration of organic based light emitting diodes, organic electronics has attracted much attention due to the distinctive processing advantages of organic materials, such as low cost, lightweight, mechanical flexibility, etc. Several different types of electronic and optoelectronic devices have been fabricated using organic materials for the active medium. However, in spite of impressive progress in organic electronics, there is still a lack of progress in organic electronic memory and display. In this presentation, two terminal electrical bistable and memory devices, which have an organic/metal/organic triple layer sandwiched between two external electrodes as the active medium is going to be discussed. When the device is biased with voltages beyond a critical value, the device suddenly switches from a high-impedance state to a low-impedance state. When the device is switched to the low-impedance state, it remains in that state even when the power is off. The nonvolatile electrical bistability of the devices can be controlled using a positive and a negative electrical bias, respectively. In addition, a unique device called organic bistable light emitting diodes fabricated by integrating a regular PLED with the OBD is going to be discussed.
