Selective catalytic reduction (SCR) of NOx by ammonia or urea is an important method for NOx removal from exhaust systems of mobile and stationary sources. However, the catalysts for SCR of NO by hydrocarbons have been little studied yet, while the effective catalysts for ammonia SCR and urea SCR have been developed. Recently, some researchers have reported that the SCR of N2O by hydrocarbons in the presence of coexistent gases such as excess O2 and H2O. N2O is a strong greenhouse-effect gas and also identified as a contributor to ozone layer depletion. The first purpose of this work is to study the reducibility and dispersion of Pt-Co/Al2O3 and Pt-Co/TiO2 catalysts prepared by co-impregnation method using TPR, XRD, XPS and TEM. The second purpose is to understand the effect of these characteristics on the catalytic activity of the methane SCR of NO and N2O. |
