Low temperature carbon dioxide regeneration by vacuum membrane stripping technology was studied to substitute the stripping process in a conventional aqueous amine process. Composite membranes which have PDMS (polydimethylsiloxane) dense layer on PE (polyethylene) sipport layer were prepared by casting method and they were used as a membrane contactor for CO2 stripping. 30 wt% MEA(monoethanolamine), DEA(diethanolamine), TEA(triethanolamine) aqueous amine solutions were used as absordents. CO2 flux was checked at various operating conditions: vacuum pressure, stripping temperature, CO2 loading and different amine solution. CO2 stripping flux was increased with higher temperature, higher CO2 loading, and lower vacuum pressure. |
