There have been numerous studies about the adsorption processes in the CO2 capture area. In those studies, the influence of water contents contained in the feed flue gas is frequently ignored with some assumptions. However, H2O has a huge impact on the process. Moreover, the removal of the additional process for water removal will lead to the significant reduction in CO2 capture cost. For this, in this work, the influence of the H2O is studied both at the level of molecule and process. At the molecule level, the molecular simulation is carried out, which provides the physical properties of the adsorbent such as isotherm data and heat of adsorption. Using those properties, at the process level, a vacuum swing adsorption (VPSA) process for CO2 capture is constructed. In the process simulation, the sensitivity analysis about the H2O influence is carried out, and its results are illustrated and discussed. |
