제목 Hydrogen Evolution from Ammonia over Highly Stable RuOx (x=0, 1)-Loaded Hierarchical Hollow Nanoporous Alumina Spheres
초록 Ruthenium based catalysts are actively utilized for the ammonia decomposition to get hydrogen production due to the higher conversion efficiency and long term stability. In this work, non-carbon based hollow mesoporous silica shells decorated by ruthenium oxide (m-Al2O3@RuOx) NPs with the shell of ~500 nm in diameter and ~30 nm in thickness were exploited as a microchannel reactor to demonstrate hydrogen evolution from ammonia. The performance was assessed systematically varying the reaction temperature (400 -600 °C) at different ammonia flow rates of 5,000, 10,000 and 20,000 mL/gcath at atmospheric pressure. The catalyst showed >99.9% conversion efficiency at 600 °C particularly at the GHSV of ≤ 10,000 mL/gcath under the strident environment of ammonia decomposition. The results obtained in this work provide valuable premise for the efficiently designed and thermally stable catalyst for ammonia decomposition for hydrogen generation aimed at fuel cell applications.
