The effects of post-treatment process on the absorption capacities of super absorbent polymer |
초록 |
Super absorbent polymer (SAP) is now widely used for diapers and sanitary napkins with its absorption capacity. We have studied the centrifuge retention capacity, and absorbency under load of SAPs according to post-treatment process such as quenching, aging, and annealing. The absorption rate and crosslink density of them were affected by the post-treatment process. The quenching process increased the rate of absorption. Aging process increased the centrifuge retention capacity by decreasing crosslink density. The absorbency under pressure increased and centrifuge retention capacity decreased after annealing method. The structured of the SAPs were characterized by FT-IR and SEM. The amount of monomer residual was confirmed by HPLC. |
