Herbaceous biomass has low density than woody biomass, which could be easily conversed to lower molecular weight sugar. However, it is needed to pretreating process prior to enzymatic hydrolysis because it has a large amount of lignin. The flow-through process was designed for effective delignification and separation biomass from the reactor. When it performed with organosolv, pretreatment effect could be improved. Organosolv selectively removes a specific component. Among various organosolv, ethanol could separate lignin from the biomass. In this experience, the pretreatment was performed with herbaceous biomass on organosolv flow-through process. Enzymatic hydrolysis was increased as reaction time and temperature were increased. However because water acts as an agent of organic material decomposition at high temperature and pressure, it was increased at lower concentration of organosolv. It caused improving of enzymatic hydrolysis and furthermore yielded over 90% of the enzymatic hydrolysis. |
