제목 Synthesis and Characterization of Theta-Shaped Polystyrene via "Click Chemistry"
초록 Synthesis of cyclic polymers has been attracting attention over the last few decades, because new polymer structures are possible to have unprecedented properties such as high glass-transition temperatures and lower hydrodynamic volume. However, due to the synthetic difficulty and separation problem, synthesis of cyclic polymers remains challenge. ATRP is particularly attractive approach for making star precursor due to the ability to modify the terminal end group. Combining ATRP and “Click” chemistry has been used to prepare many new cyclic polymers. In particular, we synthesized three-arm star polystyrene using ATRP. Theta-shaped and branched polystyrene were synthesized by intermolecular “Click” reaction between an azido-terminated polystyrene (star-PS-N3)3 and trialkynyl coupling agent in diluted solution. Prepared theta-shaped and branched polystyrene was separated by GPC. The structure of separated theta-shaped polystyrene was determined by MALDI-TOF MS, 1H NMR and FT-IR.
