In Vitro Drug Release from Biodegradable Temperature-Sensitive Star-shaped 4arm PLGA-PEG Block Copolymer Hydrogels and Its In Vivo Antitumor Efficacy |

The temperature-sensitive hydrogels have attracted extensive attention as injectable drug carrier systems owing to the sol-gel transition behaviors in aqueous solutions when the temperature is changed from room temperature to body temperature. In previous work, we developed biodegradable star-shaped 4arm PLGA-PEG block copolymers and observed their sol-gel-sol transition behaviors in a high concentrated aqueous solution (>24 wt%). In this study, we selected adriamycin (ADR) as a model anticancer drug and carried out in vivo and in vitro experiment. In vitro drug release profiles from these gels with different hydrophobic block lengths and different polymer concentrations were determined by fluoremeter and in vivo antitumor activity was evaluated with tumor bearing CD-1 mice. |
