Sol-Gel transition behavior of multi-arm block copolymers |

Temperature-sensitive biodegradable multi-arm poly(DL-lactic acid-co-glycolic acid-b-ethylene glycol) block copolymers were successfully prepared to investigate the relationship between polymer architecture and physical properties such as sol-gel transition and micellization behaviors of temperature-sensitive hydrogels. The molecular weights and successful synthesis were confirmed by GPC and 1H-NMR. Multi-arm PLGA-PEG block copolymer aqueous solutions showed sol-gel transition behaviors, which were confirmed by tube tilting method and rheometer with increasing temperature. The minimum critical concentration to form the gel (CGC) and critical micelle concentration (CMC) were decreased with increasing the number of arms in the multi-arm block copolymers due to the stronger compactness. |
