제목 Site-selective nanoparticle-encapsulation within the organic-inorganic vesicular chimera
초록 Incorporating of inorganic nanoparticles (INPs) within the self-assembled structures has been highly interesting due to its application into biomedical imaging agents and sensing probes, etc. Among the nanostructures formed by assembly of amphiphilic molecules, a vesicular structure is of special interest because of the two different types of confined spaces, i.e., the core cavity and the bilayer wall. However, in most cases, the inner cavity of the vesicles has been used exclusively and inserting guest species occasionally makes the vesicular structure unstable or even breaks. Herein, loading of INPs into the self-assembled vesicle from amphiphlic block codendrimers was successfully accomplished in both hydrophilic and hydrophobic solvents without any disruption of the vesicular shapes. Modification of quantum dot surface led to site-selective localization of INPs within the bilayer membrane or the inner cavity of the vesicles.
