제목 Enhanced visible light responsive photocatalytic property of CdS-sensitized ZnO nanocomposite photocatalysts
초록 The visible light responsive CdS/ZnO materials were successfully fabricated by a precipitation method for use in photocatalytic degradation of organic dye. The CdS acted as a photosensitizing agent to activate ZnO due to its narrow direct band gap (2.4eV). The prepared samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction and UV-vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy. The prepared samples show the mixed structures containing the ZnO and CdS structures. The absorption spectrum of prepared sample extends to the visible light range. As expected, the photocatalytic performance of the CdS/ZnO revealed enhanced degradation efficiency compared to pure ZnO sample under visible light irradiation by improving the stability and extending the energy range of photoexcitation greatly.
