Organic field-effect transistors (OFETs) have received great interests by many research groups in recent years for their potential applications in large area and flexible electronics with low cost processing. However hysteresis behavior is still serious problem of OFETs to be commercialized. Although the exact origin of it is not fully understood so far, it has been reported that the hydroxyl-like polar functional groups of the polymer are mainly responsible to hysteresis in polymer gate dielectric In this study, we introduce photo-curable polymer without hydroxyl groups as a gate dielectric. The dielectric film was spin-cast and photo-cured under UV light (λ = 255nm) showing good insulating properties. Using this polymer dielectric, we get hysteresis-free OFETs which have a field effect mobility of 0.51 cm2/Vs. In addition, to insure that our OFETs work well as organic circuitry we made a hysteresis-free organic inverter having a high inverter gain of 17.9. |
