제목 Fabrication of the sulfur doped Mo2C for improving the hydrogen evolution reaction.
초록 Hydrogen generation reactions have been studied by many researchers since it can generate carbon-free fuels from the water. Among various materials, molybdenum carbides have been gotten an attention as catalysts for HER study due to their chemical stability, good catalytic property and electric conductivity. Recently, some researchers reported that the sulfur atoms can act as active sites for hydrogen evolution reaction. Herein, we synthesized sulfur doped molybdenum carbide which showed significant catalytic property for generating hydrogen. Depending on the doped sulfur concentrations, the combination of these two materials resulted in partial molybdenum sulfide structure having unsaturated & terminal S2- ligands which leads to high HER activity as active site.  Compared to the commercial molybdenum carbide, the 18wt % sulfur doped molybdenum carbide showed reduced potential (195.4mV) up to -1.5mA/cm2 current density.
