제목 SANS Studies on the Effect of Additives on Morphologies of Bulk Heterojunction Organic Solar Cells
초록 Despite recent rapid developments, the OPVs still suffer from low device performance compared with inorganic counterparts due to short exciton diffusion length as well as low charge mobility. In order to overcome these problems, there have been reports on using self-organized poly[3-hexylthiophene] (P3HT), called as P3HT nanowires, to create continuous pathways for charge transport along with enhanced crystallinity of active layers. However, there is a lack of studies on the phase of phenyl-C61-butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM) surrounding the P3HT nanowires. In this study, we report the effect of additives on BHJ morphologies, which could increase the P3HT crystallinity as well as adjust the size of PCBM phase. We performed the small angle neutron scattering (SANS) to characterize morphologies of P3HT:PCBM blends. The power conversion efficiency of 3.24% was achieved with the addition of an additive, which is 43% enhancement when compared with the reference sample without additives.
