제목 A Scientometric Approach to Biomaterials Research
초록 Over the past decades innovations in biomaterials and medical technology have had a sustainable impact on the development of biopolymers, titanium/stainless steel and ceramics utilized in medical devices and implants. This progress has improved the quality of human life, so the development of biomaterials will be more important in the future. In this study, recent advances on the development of biomaterials have been reviewed from the statistical analysis of literatures published during 13 years from 2000 to 2012. Web of Science database (Thomson Reuters) was used in order to search literatures published during 13 years. The condition of searching literatures in the field of biomaterials is as follows: TS = (“biomaterial*”) AND Document Types = (Article) Timespan = 2003.01.01-2012.12.31. Databases = SCI-EXPANDED. The statistical analysis of searched literatures was performed using the COMPAS that was developed by KISTI(Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information). The total numbers of 4,083 papers are published by 77 nations and 2,626 institutions in the research field of biomaterials. The numbers of 29 papers in total 4,083 papers have been cited more than 250 times.
