We were successful in fabricating highly efficient polymer electrolyte based on the hydrogen bonds between oligomers for solid state dye-sensitized solar cells. The polymer electrolyte showed high ionic conductivity and good interfacial contact, resulting in high overall energy conversion efficiency of 5.0% at 1 sun condition (at 100mWcm-2, active area = 0.16cm2). The charge transfer resistance at polymer electrolyte/Pt counter electrode interface was reduced to 20Ω upon the addition of 7wt% of silica nanoparticle (11nm of particle size, hydrophilic). Enhancement of the photovoltaic performance for DSSC employing the polymer electrolyte has been interpreted by the charge transfer resistance between polymer electrolyte and the Pt counter electrode as well as the ionic conductivity, along with photocurrent-voltage characterization. |
