Effect of chemical structures on “Click” reactivity to energetic polyurethane binders with clickable functionality |

Internal plasticizers (IPs) containing an activated terminal alkyne group are synthesized by esterification and designed with ring strain energy instead of traditional energetic groups since cyclic alkyl compounds are expected to be a potential energy resource. IPs are found to work properly as a general plasticizer in GAP-based polyurethane (PU) formulation process and then complete the click reaction under Cu-free condition with azide groups of GAP prepolymer in PU curing process. Effect of IPs structure on the plasticization to GAP prepolymer and thermodynamic study of click reaction with GAP prepolymer are investigated in detail. Rheological investigations of GAP plasticized by IPs are executed. Thermal and mechanical properties of IP-integrated GAP-based PUs are also discussed. |
