The present investigation has main aim to develop latex foams which has excellent sense of comfort. In this regards, the foam hardness is adjusted by using the content of filler of Fumed silica. The latex foaming and curing process were optimized by considering the content of foam promoter, process time, temperature and pressure. Synthesized latex foam has porous morphology consisting of vertically aligned walls. Such morphology facilates excellent durability, comfort by air cell and pinhole acting as a buffer to the supporting structure. The hardness, durability and aging effect of the synthesized latex foam were investigated by using International Rubber Hardness Degree (IRHD) machine and Dynamic Mechanical Analyzer (DMA) respectively. |
