Effects of plasma treatment and amino-silane contents on plastic hard coating via UV curing process |

Organic-inorganic hybrid hard coating layer was prepared by UV-curing process to improve the hardness of plastic substrate for flexible display. Organic-inorganic solution was made on plastic substrates using a sol-gel process with nano-sized colloidal silica and methacryoxypropyltrimethoxysilane (MAPTMS). Solution was spin coated on plastic substrate and cured by UV irradiation. The samples were plasma treated before they are coated with aminosilane composite solution for better surface hardness. Plasma treatment conditions were optimized to complete good adhesion on coating layer. Aminosilane composite multilayer still enhanced hardness, transparency and adhesion of coating layer. Chemical characterization of coating layer was performed by using XPS and surface morphology was characterized by AFM. Adhesion stability of the layer to substrate was examined by tape-pull test. Optical characterization of organic-inorganic multilayer was performed in terms of transmittance and haze. |
