Superhydrophobic hybrid micro-nanocomposite powder was prepared from a mixture of Camellia japonica leaf powder, polymethylhydroxysiloxane (PMHOS) and phenyl substituted silica ormosils (PSiOr). The hybrid powder exhibited a hierarchical surface morphology, mesoporous structure, higher thermal stability and superhydrophobicity. The hybrid material showed the selective adsorption of copper (II) and nickel (II) ions preferably compared to other competitive metal ions in the mixture solution prepared in artificial sea water. The results showed that the preferable adsorption of metal ions can vary according to the type of leaf powder used in the hybrid system. |
