Conjugated polymers offer new vistas for the exploration of electronics and photonics for their tunability of colors, and low cost of preparation for various devices. The color tuning in CPs is reversibly achieved by the chemical or electrochemical doping process. Moreover, it can be achieved through a patterned polymer film in an electrochemical device, by controlling the diffraction of input light. As the color is directly related to the oxidation state of the polymer, fine tuning of color in CPs could provide a series of CP films from highly conductive to highly resistive one. This optical and electrical tunability in CPs allow one to find application potential in soft flexible technologies. Thus high photothermal and photo Seebeck effect were observed by precisely controlling the doping state. Recent efforts involving the non-invasive harvesting of stem cells and energy harvesting from multi-energy source will be discussed. |
