Electrospinning is an efficient, versatile, and inexpensive technique for assembling various functional nanofibers. In this study, we prepared electrospun propolis blended pullulan nanofibers for antimicrobial activities. We verified to suppress Escherichia coli (E. coli) and Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) through antimicrobial test of propolis. The obtained nanofibers were characterized through Optical microscope (OM), Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope (FE-SEM), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR), Tensile strength, Contact angle, and Thermogravimetric Analyzer (TGA). The results suggest that pullulan/popolis nanofibers could be considered for designing and developing antimicrobial food-packings and wound dressings. |
