For more than 20 years, dye sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) based on nanoporous TiO2 films have been under extensive research due to their reasonable photovoltaic efficiency, low production cost, and brief fabrication process. However, fabrication process of DSSCs is too long in terms of commercial applications, caused by the soaking method to adsorb dyes on the surface of the photoelectrodes. It is well known that, by the soaking method, it takes about 12 hr to adsorb dyes. In this study, electrophoretic method was employed to reduce the adsorption time, and we report on the electrophoretic deposition of dyes solved in various solvents on photoelectrodes and their influences on the performance of DSSCs. |
