Research on asymmetric nanoparticles has a possibility to control plasmon phenomena as a meta-material depending on the structure. However, the synthesis scale of asymmetric nanoparticles has limited their application. In this study, we report the synthesis of asymmetric Au nanoparticles, which has the capability to make large quantities. As a concept experiment, the asymmetric Au nanoparticle showed a rose-and polyhedral morphology. In addition, the concentration of Au source was tuned to control the size of asymmetric Au nanoparticle. As a result, the asymmetric Au nanoparticles were obtained without aggregation. This fabrication of asymmetric Au nanoparticles could be widely applicable to synthesizing in larger quantities than alternative techniques such as e-beam lithography. |
