Acrylic pressure sensitive adhesives (PSAs) are widely used in various industrial applications. In this study, the acrylic copolymer was synthesized as a base resin for PSAs by solution polymerization of 2-EHA, EA, and AA with AIBN as an initiator. The acrylic copolymer was further modified with GMA to have the vinyl groups available for UV curing. Boehmite nanoparticles were modified with organosilanes to be used as a crosslinking agent for UV-radiation curing of acrylic PSA. The introduction of active groups onto alumina surface was characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and X-ray pho-toelectron spectroscopy. The adhesion performance of acrylic PSA was investigated by measuring peel strength, gel content, and dynamic mechanical analysis. The thermal properties of acrylic PSAs were evaluated by differential scanning calorimetry, thermogravimetric analysis, and thermo mechanical analysis. |
