제목 Synthesis of monodisperse micro-sized polystyrene particles by dispersion polymerization
초록 Monodisperse micro-sized particles of polymer have attracted much interest in broad industries such as display, medical and engineering thanks to their considerable applications. Many researchers have been focused on producing highly monodisperse polymer particles. Also, various methods including soap-free emulsion polymerization and non-aqueous or aqueous dispersion polymerization were developed for preparing polymer particles. Particles between hundreds nano-size to tens micro-size can be synthesized by dispersion polymerization, a type of precipitation polymerization. In dispersion polymerization, regular particles can be obtained due to the addition of stabilizer. Monodisperse particles can self-assemble and distinctive characteristics appear owing to the maximum surface area. It will be applied to wide fields. Here, we synthesize monodisperse polystyrene microspheres by dispersion polymerization.
