Microfluidic Fabrication and Permeation Behaviors of Lipid Hydrogel Microparticles |

This study introduces a flexible and straightforward method for generating monodisperse suspensions of poly (2-methacryloyloxyethyl phosphorylcholine)-based hydrogel microparticles. This lipid polymer specializes in displaying a highly enhanced biocompatibility. A variety of uniform emulsions were generated in a microcapillary device and then the emulsion drops were photo-polymerized to transfer them to hydrogel microparticles. Then, the shell permeability of hydrogel microcapsules is characterized by considering the mesh size of hydrogel network. Furthermore, we demonstrate that adsorption of graphene oxide sheets onto the capsule interfaces allows us to tune the permeation through the shell even to small molecular length scales. |
