제목 Polysaccharide-based stent coating material for development of drug eluting stent
초록 Stent system in the areas of vascular and non-vascular have been widely investigated and clinically applied in the treatment of obstructive blood vessel/GI track disease since the introduction of balloon angioplasty. However, neointimal hyperplasia occurring within the stent leading to in-stent restenosis is a main obstacle. The introduction of drug-eluting stents (DES) contributes to resolve this problem. Unfortunately, in recent reports the stent has some problems such as migration and lower endotheialization rate. In this study, polysaccharide-based stent coating material was proposed to overcome the problems. The material including drug (anti-cancer drug, peptides) was coated on stent. The materials not only exhibited controlled drug release behavior but also accelerate endotheialization on stent.
