제목 Synthesis and Study of Self-Healing Polymer Nanocomposites
초록 The polymers which detect damage in the system and heal itself are termed as Self-healable polymers. The self-healing nature leads to many application like catalytic liquid healing agents, thermal solid-state healing agents, non-catalytic and biomimecing. In this study, synthesis of self-healable polyurethane composite material using bis(4-aminophenyl)disulfide was done. Morphological characterizations and surface behavior on damaged surface are checked using FE-SEM and XPS analysis. Among all the composites prepared, the healing efficiency decreased as concentration of the additive composites increased. This fact may be attributed to recombination reaction between the adjacent sulfur atoms. As an application study Self-healing polymer was used as a binder in Lithium ion batteries. The relative capacity decay for the self-healing binder was less compared to commercial binder. So this composite is one of the good candidate as binder in Li-ion batteries.
