Directional conductivity in reduced in SrTiO3-δ thin films |

SrTiO3 has been known to exhibit a typical perovskite oxide material and the oxygen vacancy in SrTiO3 is known to dope the material with electron carriers, causing insulator-to-metal transition. Moreover, the oxygen vacancy is easily introduced into the perovskite oxides via various processes such as growth, annealing and redox reactions. In previous study, we reported that oxygen vacancies tended to cluster in a linear way and the doped electrons were strongly localized within the band gap. We have examined the direction dependence of electrical conductivity in heavily reduced SrTiO3 thin films to verify the oxygen vacancy cluster. The aligned direction of the linear cluster depended on the strained state of SrTiO3 thin films. We report the directional conductivity as an evidence of the formation of oxygen vacancy linear clusters. |
