Mesoporous Cr-SBA-1 molecular sieves with different Si/Cr ratio were directly synthesized under strongly acidic conditions using CTEABr as the template. The mesoporous materials were characterized using several techniques, e.g. ICP-AES, XRD, FTIR, Nitrogen adsorption, TG/DTA, ESR, UV–Vis/DRS, SEM and TEM. ICP-AES studies indicated the content of chromium in the mesoporous materials. Liquid-phase oxidation of cyclohexane was carried out at moderate reaction conditions over mesoporous Cr-SBA-1 molecular sieves using acetic acid as solvent, hydrogen peroxide as oxidant, and methyl ethyl ketone as initiator. The catalyst characterization and catalytic reaction results along with different parameters will be presented. |
