Fluorinated compounds with clickable alkyne groups as reactive plasticizers are synthesized to investigate the ability on improving processibility and energetic performance of polyurethane binders. Since the fluorinated compounds can react with aluminum or other metal called as the thermite reaction and give off energy, the use of these compounds is expected to increase the energetic performance of energetic binders. For the use as the reactive plasticizers, plasticization of these compounds with poly(glycidyl azide-co-tetramethylene glycol) (PGT) prepolymers is performed by measuring viscosity, as well as , the “click” reaction between alkyne group of these compounds and azido group in side chain of the prepolymer is investigated under PU curing condition. The most important part is that the thermite reaction between the fluorinated reactive plasticizer and aluminum in PU binders. DSC or bomb calorimeter is used to assess the thermite reaction. |
