A series of electroluminescent poly(p-phenylenevinylene)s containing sulfone group, 1,3-propanedioxy group and 2,5-bis(trimethylsilyl) group were synthesized by Witting condensation. The physical, optical and electrochemical characteristics of these electroluminescent polymers were investigated. Organic light-emitting diodes were fabricated using these polymers. They were soluble in 1,1,2,2-tetrachloroethane and had high photoluminescence quantum yields in this solvent. The polymers showed good thermal stability with decomposition temperature in excess of 400℃. All of the devices showed an emission in the blue region. |
