In spite of various advantages as a biomaterial, chitosan has been limited for application in the pharmaceutics and food industry due to the poor solubility in distilled water. To solve this problem, we prepared low molecular water soluble chitosan (LMWSC) with free-amine group. LMWSC has a strong positive charge and high reactivity because of free-amine group in the glucosamine unites. We investigated the potentials as a biopolymer using low molecular weight water-soluble chitosan with free amine group, such as drug or gene carrier for target in the specific tissue and the cosmetics. In this presentation, the wide application using LMWSC as a biopolymer is going to show, especially the delivery device for receptor-mediated endocytosis process. |
