제목 | Fabrication and Characterizations of Waterborne Polyurethane / Silica Nanocomposites |
초록 | The interest of environmentally friendly materials, and restriction of volatile organic solvent are growing in these days. Thus the replacement of organic solvent by water offers a way of significant reduction in VOC content. So waterborne polyurethanes(PUs) have been actively studied recently to overcome certain properties which are inferior to those of solvent-based PUs. In this study, to improve thermal and mechanical properties of waterborne PU, we introduced nanocomposites from nanometer-scale silica. Waterborne PU was synthesized from isophoronediisocyanate(IPDI), polytetramethyleneglycol (PTMG), dimethylolpropionic acid(DMPA), diethylenetriamine(DETA) ,triethylamine(TEA) and 1,4-butandiol(1,4-BD) as extender. And in order to improve the miscibility between PU and silica, 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane as coupling agent was also used. For fabrication of nanocomposite materials, silica was incorporated with PU prepolymer under high shear. We studied thermal and mechanical properties with dynamic mechanical thermal analyzer (DMTA), differential scanning calorimeter(DSC), thermal gravimetric analyer(TGA), tensile tester and so on. |
