Crosslinked Organic-Inorganic Hybrid Hole Injection Polymer for Organic Light Emitting Diodes |

The integrity of interfacial contact between inorganic indium tin oxide (ITO) anode and organic emitting layer is crucial to the performance in organic light emitting diodes (OLED). In order to overcome the deficiencies of currently applied material PEDOT:PSS, we have synthesized a thermally crosslinkable organic-inorganic hybrid hole injection polymer, containing N, N’-bis[4-{3-(triethoxysilyl)propylcarbamato}methyloxyphenyl]-N-4-butylphenylamine (TPA) and N,N’-bis(4-n-butylpheny)-N,N’-bis[4-{3-(triethoxysilyl)propylcarbamato}methyloxyphenyl]-1,1’-biphenyl-4,4’-diamine (TPD). Soluble prepolymer was prepared to fabricate insoluble hole injection layer (HIL) via spin-coating followed by thermal crosslinking of ethoxysilane moieties. Soluble prepolymers with moderate molecular weights rendered defect-free films and exhibited good adhesion property between inorganic anode and organic emitting layer. OLED’s prepared with these hybrid HIL polymers showed improved device efficiency, as compared with those using PEDOT:PSS. |
