제목 Enhanced barrier property of modified polyvinyl alcohols for organic passivation layers of pentacene thin-film transistors
초록 Organic thin-film transistors (OTFT) are potential candidates for use in a wide range of applications in low cost and large are electronics. However, for the application of real array device such as backplane for flexible display, OTFT device should be protected by passivation layer to prolong the device lifetime. Most frequently used organic material for OTFT passivation is polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) in water not to damage to organic semiconductor layer. In this presentation, three our unique approaches will be introduced to improve the barrier property of PVA as passivation layer. PVA nanocomposite with layered silicate and surface modification of PVA were tried to enhance the barrier property of PVA to water and oxygen. We also developed novel PVA crosslinking system with photoinitiator-free condition. Detailed fabrication processes of modified PVA passivation layers and TFT characterizations before and after passivation will be presented.
