Efficiency of amphiphilic block copolymers for removing hydrophobic organic pollutant from contaminated soil |
초록 |
Introduction of fuel hydrocarbons into the soil, resulting in a change of the soil quality, which is likely to affect use of the soil or endangering public health and ground water. The objective of this work is to present a new approach in soil remediation based on the use of amphiphilic block copolymers and investigate their efficiency in removing hydrophobic organic pollutants. We attempted to remove toluene using three types of amphiphilic block copolymer containing hydrophilic poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) block and hydrophobic polyethylene (PE) or poly(propylene glycol) (PPG) block. The effect of structure of amphiphilic block copolymers on the removal efficiency was studied in comparison with conventional sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) surfactant. |
